Fortnite's most prestigious tournament, the FNCS, started last weekend. And one pro player had a phenomenal performance, despite suffering from conjunctivitis.
Last weekend, a European player went on a miracle run in the FNCS, and was somehow able to put on an unbelievable performance despite suffering from conjunctivitis. Well played.
Fortnite Pro Player Qualifies For Next Round Of FNCS With An Eye Disease
Fortnites FNCS is the most important tournament of the season. And a lot of players need to make sacrifices to compete. But no one is crazier than the German pro player Vadeal.
Alexander Schlik, his original name, is currently playing with his German friend Lennard "Rezon ay" Sill. After a 7th place in last season's FNCS, they are yet again trying to get Rezons first FNCS title ever.
The FNCS format is the same as in Chapter 5 Season1. There are two weekends with 4 stages each. The 250 best duos qualify for stage 4 on each weekend to earn series points. These series points are the key to qualify for the following lower and upper bracket, which lead to the Grand Finals. The best duos from this season's FNCS also qualify for the FNCS Global Championship.
And after a dominant performance in stage 1 everything was looking good for the young duo. But before the start of stage 2 a huge problem occurred. Vadeal said to his Twitch chat "My eyes hurt so much" and mentioned a slightly red coloring. He also added in his very own style: "It feels like someone j***ed into my eyes".
Vadeal Streams 7 Hours Straight - Incredible FNCS Performance With Conjunctivitis
Even though the Wave Esports legend and former FNCS champion got nerfed by his eyes, Vadeal and Rezon moved on and battled through each of the three remaining stages on Saturday and Sunday.
But in the final stage on Sunday, they had the worst imaginable start, dying off spawn 3 times in a row. However, the bounce back was in, and after that they gave a masterclass performance over several games. In their final match, they clutched up again and saved themselves a 50th place, which qualifies them immediately for the next tournament stage.
It was an insane set of performances to witness out of someone with conjunctivitis, and we wish Vadeal a speedy recovery!
Conjunctivitis, also known as "pink eye" is kind of an infection or a reaction to allergies. Your eyes will get slightly red, swollen and sometimes they have a sticky discharge. Also recognizable are the tears and secretion coming out of your eyes permanently if you have a Conjunctivitis. It's not dangerous in the first place, but it's recommended to rest a little bit and give your eyes a break. Conjunctivitis usually goes away after a week, chronic disease can stay a lot longer, if you don't relax your eyes or go to a doctor.
If you have any suspicion of a eye Conjunctivitis, we highly recommend going to the doctor or/and relax your eyes. Especially staring at monitors for a long time is terrible and can evolve the Conjunctivitis.
