The League of Legends Skarner VGU for the new rework has just been released, and one immediate observation is the significant drop in his win rate.
The League of Legends Skarner VGU is out now and with the new rework, his win rate has plummeted drastically. We all know the huge Brackern scorpion, and his new look and abilities are simply amazing. Who doesn't want to try out his new abilities? However, mastering the champion has become a bit more challenging due to the complexity of his new abilities.
So watch out when you go through the wall with your E ability. There might be a turret —or five enemies.
League of Legends: Skarner's VGU Stats
Skarner's win rate hasn't been looking very promising since the rework release. Due to the moderate learning curve of the abilities and the still rather weak damage, it has dropped from 48.76% to 36.43%. So even the most skilled Skarner players had their struggles. However, that didn't stop players from picking the champion. The pick rate has consequently risen to over 11%!
Riot Games has also already commented on the new rework and is aware of the learning curve. Therefore, they have purposely chosen to observe how players cope with his new kit and plan to release changes based on this observation.
Skarner is out on Live Environments!! Super proud of the team for pushing through many hurdles during development and we're pretty happy with the result. Initial power level does look at a tad weak, but he does have a moderate learning curve, so we're monitoring closely....

As we know, this is not very uncommon after a new release. Upon the release of the latest champion, Smolder, his win rate initially stood at 40.30%. And after a few patches, he emerged as the champion with the highest number of pentakills in 2024.
Similarly, Naafiri and Briar maintained win rates within the 30% range upon release. Briar had to be fixed so drastically that she received a hotfix immediately after release, and also adjustments in the subsequent patches.
So let's eagerly await the next patch and try to learn Skarner's new abilities in the meantime!.
