Warner Bros. have recently announced a series of major reboots. First they unveiled the Looney Tunes movie with Porky Pig and Daffy Duck, and now they've revealed their plans for Adventure Time, which ran until 2018.

But in the case of Adventure Time, we're also getting a couple of new spin-offs in addition to the movie. Clearly, the execs are convinced that the iconic cartoon has even more yet to give.

Adventure Time Movie In Early Development

As Variety has revealed, Cartoon Network Studios is developing a new Adventure Time movie. The project boasts a superstar team of animators, including Patrick McHale, co-creator of Over the Garden Wall; Rebecca Sugar, the creator of Steven Universe; and Adam Muto, the original showrunner of Adventure Time.

Unfortunately, that's pretty much all we know about the project. It is still in the very early stages of development, and is expected to be at least a couple of years away. Exciting nevertheless.

Two Separate Adventure Time Spinoff Shows Also Announced

Unlike the movie, we actually do a know a little about the two upcoming spinoff shows: Adventure Time: Side Quests and Adventure Time: Heyo BMO. They both sound quite promising, although like the movie, neither is expected to release this year.

Adventure Time: Side Quests

Side Quests will transport audiences back to Finn's childhood, a time when he dreamed of embarking on epic adventures and battling monsters alongside his best friend, Jake the Dog.

Unlike the original Adventure Time, this show will present standalone episodes. These episodes will feature early versions of beloved characters, including the occasional villain, like The Ice King.

Adventure Time: Heyo BMO

This one is explicitly aimed at a younger audience than previous Adventure Time projects. It focuses on the beloved video game console BMO. In the show, BMO moves to a new neighborhood and, along with a group of new friends, faces challenges designed for younger viewers.

And that's everything we know so far, the exciting reboot of Adventure Time. Until then, check out the most exciting live event of 2024.
