Riot Games has spiced things up by introducing Triple Tonic as a secondary rune in the inspiration tree. It's stepping into the shoes of the Perfect Timing Rune, which used to hand you a stopwatch. Triple Tonic: New Rune For The Inspiration Tree
Triple Tonic, now in the contraption row alongside Hextech Flashtraption and Magical Footwear, has taken the reins from the ousted Perfect Timing.
What's the deal with Triple Tonic, you ask? Well, it gifts you an Elixir of Avarice at level 3, an Elixir of Force at level 6, and an Elixir of Skill at level 9.
- Elixir of Avarice: gain 5 bonus true damage on-hit against minions for 60 seconds. By expiration, gain 40 gold.
- Elixir of Force: gain 12 bonus Attack Damage or 20 Ability Power for 60 seconds.
- Elixir of Skill: gain an extra skill point for your abilities.
Is it a game-changer? It can definitely be! If you're rocking the primary inspiration tree for First Strike, Glacial Augment, or Unsealed Spellbook, you'd typically opt for Magical Footwear in Row 1 or Hex Flash.
However, enchanter supports that can't make use out of these two runes, because Magical Footwear takes too long to get in your inventory and Hex Flash just doesn't make sense for supports that want to stay behind and buff their allies, Triple Tonic is a great choice.
Your first elixir is a nice tool to push in your lane together with your ADC to be able to recall just in time before your opponents start to approach and push you in. The second elixir just grants you straight up damage and is an incredible buff, granting you that extra strength when a fight is going to escalate.
Alright, let's talk about the grand finale, the most OP elixir in the kit: Elixir of Skill. This bad boy hands you a free Skill Point, and trust me, it's a game-changer. It's like a cheat code, especially for late-game enchanters and mage supps. Your second ability gets maxed out in no time, and you're on the fast track to domination. Overall, Triple Tonic is a great rune for enchanter and mage supports that want to scale. Examples are Soraka, Nami, Xerath or Lux.
Even as a secondary inspiration tree user, you can go for Triple Tonic and Cosmic Insight in case you already got Sorcery as your main rune together with Manaflow Band. However, if you need that extra mana, because you want to bully your lane opponent early on than you should go for Biscuit Delivery instead of Triple Tonic.
When used strategically, it can also shine on other champions besides supps, especially those reliant on their Ultimate. Champions like Syndra or Zed could hit level 6, pop the potion, and unleash their ults in an all-in, gaining an advantage over opponents who can't utilize it as effectively.
Is the rune good? Absolutely. It requires some foresight and strategic play around power spikes, but if your champion aligns well with it, Triple Tonic can be a potent alternative to other runes.
