Dota 2’s OGA Dota PIT will make its return for the third time. The best teams from Europe and the CIS will fight it out over a full week, starting September 20.
OGA Dota Pit was initially just the name of a Minor event, back when we still had LAN tournaments. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, it was canceled like many others, but it found a new light in an online format. With two seasons and various regions already in the past, Dota PIT will mark its return for the third time for the Europe and CIS region. The prize pool for Season 3 will be the same as in the previous one, standing at $170,000. Last time Team Nigma took first place by defeating Alliance in the grand finals.
The Teams

The number of participants also remains the same – 6 direct invitations and 2 coming from closed qualifiers. The 6 direct invitees are:
- Team Nigma
- OG
- Alliance
- Team Secret
- VP.Prodigy
- Team Liquid
In the closed qualifiers, four teams will compete for the two remaining slots. All of the four are also well-known squads from the regions:
- Ninjas in Pyjamas
- FlyToMoon
- Vikin.gg
- 5men
5men were formed less than a month ago but each player on the team has vast experience in the competitive scene. Will they make it through the qualifiers though?
OGA Dota PIT Season 3 Format
The tournament won’t have a group stage, kicking off directly with double elimination playoffs. As usual, all matches will be a Bo3 with only the grand finals being a Bo5. An official stream will be available on the OGA Dota Pit Twitch channel.
The Favorites for the Event
Let’s face it, Team Secret have been on an unbreakable win streak as they’ve won the last 7 tournaments they attended. Most recently they won the OMEGA League Europe Immortal division where the opposition included everyone that’s about to play in the OGA Dota Pit Season 3. The only team to take a single game from Secret during the OMEGA League were OG.Will we see a different outcome this time? We highly doubt it, as Secret have shown us a solid and consistent performance in the last few months. It’s pretty clear they have something that other teams are lacking.
