Cave Story is one of the pioneers in the indie genre - way before indies were cool. In essence, it's a retro-style platformer full of exploration, perilous navigation, and joyful combat. Cave Story is definitely an older title (it made its debut way back in 2004!), BUT: This week, Epic Games Store is giving away the newer Cave Story+version, sporting better graphics and music, more levels, weapons, a better story and some quality of life improvements like proper controller support.
