Who is Michael Chu?
Michael Chu was a pivotal contributor to the massively successful game Overwatch and now Overwatch 2 (though we're not sure who will be able to fill those boots right now). Chu was considered the origin of all heroes within Overwatch, with credit to other popular video games such as World of Warcraft, Diablo III and now – Overwatch 2. Chu's prominence extended to major events such as BlizzCon where you could always expect him to be there, discussing character origin stories and upcoming lore developments.
On his blog, his latest addition dubbed Twenty Years was a sad but exciting entry:
"When I first walked through the doors of Blizzard Entertainment twenty years ago, my only dream was to help make the games I had spent countless hours of my life playing. From the battles between the races of Azeroth in Warcraft to the corruption of humanity as pawns of the Eternal Conflict in Diablo, I was lucky enough to tell stories in these amazing universes and help bring them to life."
In his blog post, Chu notably makes a personal remark to Overwatch, saying that "Overwatch has been a life-changing experience",
What's next for Michael Chu?
Chu finished his blog post by stressing on wanting to continue to tell and share his stories in his upcoming adventures, and we honestly couldn't be more excited for him. On a more personal note, playing Blizzard Entertainment games throughout the years, especially ones Chu had an impact on, his work and art of storytelling had a profound impact on our team and we are all incredibly grateful for his work. The team of EarlyGame is looking forward to his newest exciting adventure as any video game company should be privileged to have him. We know you're going to do good work because to quote you in your blog:
That’s the future that we believe in.
