The tactical shooter Rainbow Six Siege is getting released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Okay, we already knew that but now, in the new Ubisoft Forward edition, the people in charge have released concrete details about the next-gen upgrade.
Rainbow Six Siege is venturing into the new generation with the release of the latest consoles PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Already in November, we'll be able to enjoy the tactical shooter including its technical improvements.

As we now know, Xbox Series X/S will be released on November 10, and the PlayStation 5 is also expected to launch in the penultimate month of 2020. Just in time for the release, fans of Rainbow Six Siege will receive a next-gen upgrade, which the developers have now revealed at yesterday's Ubisoft Forward event.
If you already own the game for PS4 or Xbox One, you can enjoy the upgrade to the next console generation at no additional cost. Newcomers, however, pay the same price as for the version on the current console hardware. Of course, Rainbow Six Siege comes with numerous technical improvements. For example, there is a frame rate of 120 FPS and a 4K resolution on PS5 and Xbox Series X. Especially the former should provide a much better gaming experience due to the smoother graphics.

The game will also be generation-spanning. Cross-gen games between players of the current generation of the same device family with owners of the next-gen version are therefore possible. That'll probably even include the contents of Year 5 Season 4 of the tactical shooter, because the third season - which includes Sam Fisher as the new operator - will end on October 19.
