Six teams battled it out in the European Championship Finals of the RLCS X this weekend - Team Vitality came out victorious. And with a $400,000 dollar prize pool on the line at this massive Rocket League event, Vitality won more than just pride. We've got a recap in case you missed the tournament.
The Rocket League Championship Series Season 10 has been explosive so far. Just last week, True Neutral stormed to victory in South America, another impressive display for this relatively new team. And this weekend Team Vitality did the same in Europe. Though for Vitality, it was more of a direct challenge against Team BDS and their dominance in the European region. Here's a complete rundown of the RLCS X European Championship from June 20.
Which Teams Were Competing In The RLCS X European Finals?
Team Vitality, Team BDS, Top Blokes, Team Queso, Guild Esports, and Solary qualified for the event. Team BDS in particular posed a significant threat as they stormed their way to the final match against Team Vitality, but they didn't quite bring enough this weekend.
Team Vitality put a fantastic performance in against Team BDS at the end, winning the first series 4–0, and putting a comeback to bed in the second series with 4–2. Here were the exact results:
1st Series:
- 1 - 0 Team Vitality, Mannfield (Night)
- 2 - 1 Team Vitality, Forbidden Temple
- 2 - 1 Team Vitality, DFH Stadium
- 4 - 1 Team Vitality Utopia Coliseum (Dusk)
2nd Series:
- 1 - 0 Team BDS, Mannfield (Night)
- 2 - 0 Team BDS, Forbidden Temple
- 2 - 1 Team Vitality, DFH Stadium
- 3 - 2 Team Vitality, Utopia Coliseum (Dusk)
- 3 - 2 Team Vitality, Wasteland (Night)
- 1 - 0 Team Vitality, Neo Tokyo
For this performance, Team Vitality won $160,000 of the total prize pool and Team BDS walked away with $80,000.
Who Was On Team Vitality In The RCLS X European Finals?
Victor "Fairy Peak" Locquet, Alexandre "Kaydop" Courant, and Yanis "Alpha54" Champenois were playing for Team Vitality, under their coach Alexandre Moutarde, or "Mout". This roster has brought great success to Vitality, and we'll be watching to see if they can continue challenging Team BDS in the region.
