Before you ask: no, we're not drunk. The game is actually pretty damn funny! Rocket League 2D Fangame is - big surprise incoming - a fangame that you can play and download for free on the alternative gaming platform itch.io. It was developed by Gurpreet Singh Matharoo and is one of many small games he developed with Game Maker: Studio and published on itch.io.
What is Rocket League 2D Fangame?
The name says it all: Rocket League 2D Fangame is a two-dimensional version of Rocket League. There is only a 1vs1 mode, and you can also only move left or right, jump and boost. But yes: you can do cool flips! Also, the game has the original sounds from Rocket League, which coupled with this, rather minimalistic, graphics triggers weird feelings in us. You can play the game in any browser, but: with Google Chrome the game unfortunately runs quite badly (for whatever reason). That's why we recommend the download, which is also only a few MB in size.
The game was released quite a while ago, and in the meantime, it has attracted quite a few "fans", or rather "curious" people. A phenomenal feature of the game is a missing time limit, which led to players constantly trying to outdo each other with absurd results:
"okay i'm unstoppable i scored 3000 goals took me a whole week" - demonslayer
Also, for some unknown reason, 20 points are awarded to a random counter when the ball is held in the air for a second. This, too, has awakened the sporting spirit of some users:

The game, which is developed by one person and only sporadically updated, unfortunately has its problems. Especially with the AI, which is even dumber than the one in Rocket League itself:
