WePlay!'s Tug of War: Mad Moon is underway and day one is already behind us. Team Secret have distinguished themselves and other squads had to go home.
The first two to leave
In Tug of War: Mad Moon's Group A, Infamous failed to win a single match, losing a series to Gambit Esports followed by another loss against B8. With the elimination of the South American team, the tournament is now entirely filled with European/CIS rosters. Infamous haven't qualified for neither the StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor Season, or the ESL One Major in LA, so that'll be the last we see of them for quite some time.
In Group B, Ninjas in Pyjamas suffered a 0-2 loss to Nigma in the opening games. The elimination series was troublesome for Peter "ppd" Dager and his team. They took the first game against Aggressive Mode but the latter answered with a reverse sweep in the next two, putting an end to NiP's journey in Mad Moon. Fortunately, they've already secured a spot in the upcoming ESL One LA Major which will begin in the middle of next month.
The group stage winners
Team Secret have once again proven they're a force to be reckoned with as they swept through Gambit Esports and B8. Clement "Puppey" Ivanov's squad hasn't lost a game in some time, as they showed us the same results during the ESL One Major qualifiers where nobody managed to take them down.

In Group B, it was Virtus.pro who ended up on top after the two series. The first victim of the Russian bears was Aggressive Mode in the opening matches for the day. In the winners' match, VP stood against Nigma and all three games were complete stomps. Nigma stole a victory in the second match with a 25-minute Divine Rapier on Medusa. Ultimately, VP took the series with a 2-1, knocking Nigma down to the decider match.

Tug of War: Mad Moon resumes today with the decider matches between B8/Gambit Esports in Group A and Aggressive Mode/ Nigma in Group B. We'll also see the first series of the playoffs in the Upper bracket.
