Warhammer 40K is finally set to make its debut on Amazon, and both Henry Cavill and Games Workshop plan to make sure that it does the franchise (and the Emperor of Mankind) justice!
The Warhammer 40K franchise has built its way up from a simple table-top game to a global phenomenon that excites people globally. No wonder then that the news of its first TV adaptation got fans both anxious and hyped. Although it will still take a long time before anything releases, Amazon now has the rights to the Empire of Mankind and will definitely use them!
Henry Cavill & Games Workshop Will Make Sure We Get The Perfect Warhammer 40K Adaptation
The news that Amazon has now officially acquired the rights to produce Warhammer 40K adaptations could be both a blessing and a curse (just like the Warp). We all remember the way Rings of Power twisted the source material into something it was never supposed to be and fans of 40K are rightfully cautious when it comes to future adaptations. But there is hope for the 41st millennium!
Not only is Henry Cavill going to be heavily involved in any project regarding the Warhammer IP as an executive producer, Games Workshop themselves released a statement, promising that they're assembling a team of screenwriters who share Cavill's passion for the franchise.
All we can tell you right now is that an elite band of screenwriters, each with their own particular passion for Warhammer, is being assembled to help bring the setting and characters you love to the screen. This illustrious group will be championed by Henry Cavill, who stands ready to take his place as executive producer – bringing his pen, sword and/or spear to the project.
Adaptations like this often suffer by deviating from the source material, and Henry Cavill has been in a clinch with the screenwriters of Netflix's The Witcher adaptation about this, so this is great news!
Fans will have to wait for quite a while, though, before the first Amazon Warhammer 40K adaptation hits our home screens, but we'll make sure to update you on the matter.
