Percy Jackson and the Olympians was probably one of, if not the most anticipated Disney+ original to hit the streaming service this year. One reason for this is obviously the success of the books by Rick Riordan that it is adapting, but the other is that so far the trailers etc. have just looked amazing! Episode 8 will release on January 31 and bring the first season to an end.

With a total of 8 episodes, fans will be able to join Percy, Annabeth, and Grover on their adventures in Camp Half-Blood and beyond, adapting the story of Lightning Thief.
The final episode 8 hits Disney+ on January 31. So far, that's going to be it – but that doesn't mean it has to stay that way.
Rick Riordan has shared in his blog that work for season 2 has already started. He emphasizes that doesn't mean season 2 has been green-lit yet, (and it still hasn't) but working on scripts for a possible second season could be a good sign.
Season 2 will probably be based on the second book in the Percy Jackson series – Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Sea of Monsters .
