Clutch picks and mid-game roams were just too much for Team Vitality to handle.
Fnatic fans might have been worried for their team after their very shaky performance on Friday, where they barely managed to pull off the win against Misfits, while Vitality looked on point in their opening game. Would Fnatic’s players rally to prevent an upset?
The spring split finalists focused on the bottom lane in the early game and it paid off in a first blood and pressure lead. Vitality had a counter in the top lane, however, where veteran Lucas "Cabochard " Simon-Meslet had a CS lead and an early kill of his own. On the whole, Fnatic retained a gold lead - but more importantly, they had the pressure lead around the map. A series of stellar Blitzcrank hooks by their support Zdravets "Hylissang" Galabov set up key kills that extended their advantage.A series of picks allowed Fnatic to take the Baron 23 minutes in and the ocean soul two some two minutes later. Those buffs and the growing item lead left Vitality with few options and they had to watch two inhibitors fall in the following push.
They tried to fight, but by then it was too late - Tim "Nemesis" Lipovšek’s Corki took over and after an extended Pentakill (“extended” only because of the fountain) Fnatic closed out the game.
