The superstar Chinese Dota 2 team is having some issues with their final players. Liu "Sylar" Jiajun was supposed to be the replacement but things have changed.

Just last week, the word was officially out – the superstar Chinese Dota 2 team of 4 Angry Men known as Elephant.4AM. The roster was revealed as:

  • Liu "Sylar" Jiajun
  • Lu "Somnus丶M" Yao
  • Zhou "Yang" Haiyang
  • Xu "fy" Linsen
  • Ru "RedPanda" Zhihao

The big surprise was Sylar, who came as a last-minute replacement for Zhang "Eurus" Chengjun. The latter was supposed to join the 4AM team but after failed negotiations, Sylar was quickly picked as a replacement. Many of us thought that’d be it.

Sylar Out of 4AM

Less than a day after the official announcement, Sylar’s journey at 4AM supposedly came to an end. According to sources he’ll be replaced by Eurus. Ironic, since he was the one that had to fill in for him in the first place.

What Happened?

The negotiations between Vici Gaming and 4AM were going well for the transfer of Eurus until the very end when it came to a final clause. According to it, 4AM had to pay an extra 1.5 million RMB (~$220,000) and they refused. The organization decided to quickly pick up Sylar as the next best option after he was recommended by Somnus. This takes us to what happened next and it’s mostly speculation. On the next day, another meeting between the two orgs was held and perhaps VG realized 4AM will just play with Sylar so they decided to make the transfer.

Sylar wasn’t too happy with the whole situation saying to Xie "DD" Bin:

I’m gone. What are 4AM doing? Fooling with people?

Sadly, the only one suffering from all of this is Sylar, who left EHOME for it. His former team already announced a new roster and it’s hard to tell where he’ll be playing now. 4AM had a rocky start while forming the team. This transfer isn’t exactly the type of professionalism one would expect from a respected esports organization. It’s hard to tell whether all of the problems could’ve been avoided but we hope that Sylar isn’t majorly screwed.

With the roster finally formed, the superstar Chinese Dota 2 team is good to go. When will we see them in action though?
