Times are a-changin' for team Liquid's CS:GO division. Following a roster change last week which saw long-time member Nick "nitr0" Canella leave the team, TL are going deeper by appointing a new coach as well. The man chosen to take the team forward is Jason "moses" O'Toole.

The previous two weeks were turbulent for Team Liquid. The departure of the last remaining original member of the squad - former team captain nitr0, took many by surprise. The signing of young Michael "Grim" Wince is also finding it hard to convince Liquid fans that better times are coming. In certain aspects, the coaching change brings even more inexperience to the team, which is just another uncertain variable.

Moses is a well-known figure in the CS:GO community. While he was playing Counter-Strike 1.6 back in the day, moses' true fame with current fans of the game is through his casting and analytical work at CS:GO tournaments. The American's knowledge of the game is undeniable, but coaching requires much more than just understanding the principles of play, so this move is certainly a challenge for him as well as being something of a gamble for Team Liquid.
Moses will be replacing Eric "adreN" Hoag behind the curtain. With adreN, TL enjoyed their best ever run in professional Counter-Strike, peaking with an Intel Grand Slam Season 2 victory last year. In 2020, however, results were going backwards and just like nitr0 on player level, adreN has fallen victim on coaching level.
Liquid are currently competing at Dreamhack Open Summer North America and are already 1-0 in their group following a win over Ze Pug Godz. Moses' official debut as team coach will come against Chaos Esports Club tomorrow, August 11.
