Individual loadouts have long been part of Call of Duty. Until now, however, these could only be selected when playing multiplayer. CoD: Warzone changed all that by letting you use your own loadouts in a Battle Royale setting.
In CoD: Warzone, like all Battle Royale titles, you will find weapons and equipment on the map. Either on the ground or, especially the better weapons, in boxes. In addition, Warzone also has equipment supplies from which you can get your own custom loadouts. These supplies are dropped randomly from airplanes during the match, but can also be purchased for $6000 at the buying stations.
Even if you can find very good weapons, you should always look to get one of these equipment supplies as soon as possible. Having your own loadout gives you an incredible advantage over players who load out the ordinary way. Not only can you pack two primary weapons with the right perk, you can also optimize them to the last with your favorite attachments.
Let’s take a look at some loadout options for you to take into consideration.
Call of Duty: Warzone Loadouts and What to Look For
Weapons and their attachments must be unlocked by playing the game. So if you have already played Modern Warfare, you might have a small advantage over those who started at a later stage.
When it comes to the question of the best loadout, there are some things to consider. For example, since the map is very large and therefore mostly fought over long distances, you should always make sure you have a lot of range in your loadout.
The All-Around Loadout: Sniper + Assault Rifle
Probably the most basic and popular combination to go with. With the Overkill Perk you can equip two primary weapons when creating a loadout. We recommend a sniper to scan the environment and take out enemies at long range. The HDR or AX-50 are best suited for this. Both come with long-range capabilities and high damage delivery. Which one you choose is rooted in what kind of specs you value higher. The HDR has less bullet drop and higher range, but the AX-50 has a slightly higher fire rate.
In terms of your own safety, a silencer is always a good way to go. It’s recommended that you also use the necessary attachments to be aware of as much of the map as possible We’d advise getting a scout visor – it allows you to look around at a long enough distance and it doesn't reflect light, which keeps your own position concealed.
You can combine the sniper with the M4A1 or the RAM-7 assault rifles. The latter may be a little bit better as it deals a little more damage, but you have access to the M4A1 much earlier and it is still one of the best weapons in the game. No matter which one you choose, you should also pay attention to the range of the attachments. Once more, a silencer is also a necessity.
It is also important to have a large magazine as enemies in Warzone take much more punishment than in multiplayer. For the visors we personally prefer a reflex visor, but many people swear by the thermal visor, because enemies can be easily recognized by smoke or at a greater distance. However, since many players have adapted and equipped the Cold-Blooded Perk - which you should do as well - the thermal visor is not as useful as some make it out to be.
The Aggressive Loadout: Assault Rifle + MP
This loadout is interesting for players who are always directly into the fray and just want to get as many kills as possible. Perfect for Solo play. The M4A1 and RAM-7 assault rifles return here as well, each with a larger magazine and optimized for range. To compensate for the missing sniper, the hybrid sight can be used here, which lets you switch between scout (3x magnification) and Red-Dot.
As MP we recommend the AUG. It is currently considered one of the most powerful weapons in Warzone. The most important thing is to choose the 5.56 NATO 60 rounds as ammunition, which makes the weapon almost unbeatable at short to medium distances (excluding shotguns). For this loadout, you should pay attention to mobility and target speed (ADS) for the remaining attachments. The AUG is supposed to get you through close-quarter battles and you are well-positioned for the long and medium distances with the assault rifle.
The “Best of Everything” Loadout: LMG + Shotgun
This loadout combines good range and fire rate with the best short distance option – the shotgun. For long and medium distances, we recommend the PKM. As we’ve established, it should always go with a silencer and long-range optimization. The hybrid sight is also suitable here. Since the PKM already has a large magazine, no more actions are needed here.
For close range, you should use the R9-0 or the Origin 12 – they combine great damage with high firing frequency. Since we’re talking shotguns here, we’ll finally allow you to skip the silencer. Just go in there and shoot some ducks.
Equipment and Perks
In the equipment section, you have one slot for primary and one for tactical equipment. For the primary slot, we recommend grenades, either Semtex or the usual frag grenade, depending on your preference.
In the tactics slot you have a choice to make: heartbeat sensor or smoke grenade. If you use a thermal visor, you should definitely pack the smoke grenades. You can use them to cover your retreat, but you can also use the thermal visor to take out enemies through the smoke. For all others, the heartbeat sensor is the right choice. It reveals enemies nearby, which can give you an incredible advantage.
The Perks you should use are relatively self-explanatory. Overkill is required in all loadouts to equip two primary weapons. Cold-Blooded is also indispensable in our opinion, as you can't be detected with thermal sights anymore. Alternatively, you could take Double Time, which increases your speed and generally improves your movement. We believe the final spot should be reserved for a personal choice depending on your own playing style and personal preferences.
And there you have it. These are our tips on the best loadouts currently available in Call of Duty: Warzone. What are your favorites or do you prefer to do a traditional search and not create any loadouts at all?
