The fabled Dota 2 2020 Summer Event is finally upon us. Aghanim’s Labyrinth will be here to stay until the end of the Dota 2 Battle Pass and it looks like players will be able to earn a solid amount of points. All while having fun of course.

Aghanim’s Labyrinth

The Summer event is centered around Rubick’s father – Aghanim. The latter is known as one of if not the greatest magus to ever live. His adventures led him across dimensions. Valve made an impressive cinematic that gives us a Disney vibe.

The good news is the event will be available for everyone, not just Battle Pass owners. The latter will be able to get some extra levels as just the achievements surround the event will net you in 6500 points alone. Each week Battle Pass owners will also be able to earn an extra 2000 points.

What Is the Event All About?

Aghanim’s Labyrinth is a four-player roguelike co-op experience. Dungeons will be randomly generated and it’ll be up to the players to choose which challenge they want to take. The choice is made by channeling outposts. There will be bosses, there will be rewards and if you make it to the end (Aghanim is the final boss) you’ll also unlock the next difficulty. There’s a total of four Ascension Levels and everyone starts at level 1. Upon completing each of them you will be granted a unique Aghanim chat wheel.

While inside the labyrinth players will find Scepter Shards and Arcane Fragments. The shards can be used to augment your abilities in-game, while fragments are the currency that unlocks permanent passive upgrades. Think of it as a talent tree for the event, which should make things easier, the deeper you go.

Last but not least there’s Aghanim’s Trial which will be available once a week, starting next week. In it, players will be able to compete against each other in a global leaderboard. It will be the same dungeon for everyone in the trial and the best of the best will earn some extra rewards which vary from hero arcanas to exclusive cosmetics and effects. You can find more about them on the official Dota 2 website.
