Four pro players triumph in Battlegrounds Brawl: Pirates & Mayhem, one of the largest Hearthstone esports events of the season with a prize pool of $200,000.

What a show that was! Competitive Hearthstone fans are used to seeing pro players duke it out for big money in the game’s standard pre-constructed deck format, but this even was something really fresh.

Four teams bursting with star power engaged in thrilling games of Battlegrounds in a fun and relaxed multiplayer format. Well, as fun and relaxed as they could be when $200,000 are at stake!

The teams looked as follows:

Southsea Swashbucklers

  • Firebat
  • Slysssa
  • Solary (Oliech)
  • Tom60229

Not one but two world champions. Wow!

Bloodsail Buccaneers

  • Kripp
  • Trump
  • Sjow
  • DDaHyoNi

A nice mix of tournament players and fan-favorite content creators. As one such content creator might say, this team is “pretty good”.

Northsea Navigators

  • Brian Kibler
  • Educated_Collins
  • RDU
  • Jinbae

Don’t let these smiling, friendly faces fool you - this team packs a serious punch.

Fogsail Freebooters

Easily the favorites of the bunch, this squad sports nothing but next-level players who deeply understand the game.

The tournament went great. Dozens of thousands of live viewers on Twitch and YouTube were treated to excellent gameplay presented in a frantic, ever-changing form with spectators and commentators jumping from one game to the next.

Team Fogsail Freebooters played excellently, managing to secure a serious advantage in the final rounds of the competition and making sure they’ve stacked up all the points they need to win. Of course, Kipp and Tom60229 did everything in their power to win these important last rounds, but Hafu and pals played super confidently and simply outclassed the competition.

At the end of the day, everybody was happy, though. The format was fun, everyone's favorite commentator Frodan almost got fired and can surely expect some spicy memes in his socials for days to come. Despite the Fogsail Freebooters taking the lion’s share of the prize purse, everybody left the event with heavy pockets, including the lucky audience members who got free packs.
