The long-awaited first trailer of Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League dropped, revealing the gang of DC Universe’s most dangerous villains on their mission to eliminate an important target: Superman himself.

The new cinematic shows Harley Quinn and pals having fun in the middle of a warzone with some cool music blasting, while their main target, Superman, pays them a visit.

The game is being developed by Rocksteady Studios, the same guys behind the massively successful Arkham series including Batman: Arkham Asylum (2009), Batman: Arkham City (2011), Batman: Arkham Origins (2013) and Batman: Arkham Knight (2015), alongside a series of portable games and spinoffs. Rocksteady is proven as both huge DC fans and highly competent game-makers, so fans of the franchise can rest assured the title’s in good hands.

Suicide Squad went mainstream in 2016 with the big-budget movie by the same name that was received alright by fans and absolutely slammed by critics. It’s interesting to compare and contrast the movie with the game, as the game characters definitely resemble their movie counterparts, especially in the way they speak, while at the same time looking much more like their comic-book selves.

Suicide Squad is all about the DC villains, who are implanted with bombs in their heads and sent on a nearly impossible mission to kill Superman. Facing imminent doom - whether the hands of the man from steel, or the explosive devices in their hands - the gang tries to make the best out of it by joking around, messing with each other, and having fun like it’s the end of the world.

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League is set for release in 2022 on PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. Its story campaign will support both single-player and two-player co-op mode.
