After series of sexual allegations, the most famous Dota 2 caster, Toby "TobiWan" Dawson officially announced that he'd no longer be part of the esports scene.
In the past two weeks, the #metoo movement has gained a lot of ground in the esports scene. It all started with HenryG in CS:GO, but quickly branched out to the FGC and Dota 2. In the latter, the number of accused people grew over the week. Some, like Paul "Redeye" Chaloner, have already stepped down as a result of the accusations. Perhaps the most interesting case in the Dota 2 scene was the one involving Toby "TobiWan" Dawson.
Dawson is easily the most recognized casters in competitive Dota 2 as his career in the title kicked off back in 2011. Ever since then, he hasn't missed a single edition of The International, but by the looks of it, that's about to change. We reported earlier that multiple girls had accused Toby, one being the girlfriend of his co-caster Troels "SyndereN" Nielsen. As a result, Valve removed TobiWan's most iconic voice lines from this year's Battle Pass. Many wondered if the caster will try to defend himself or admit to the charges, and now we have an answer.

In the statement, Toby comments that he's not guilty of any criminal offense and that after this whole experience, he's done with esports.
As of this post I will cease to have any public image in esports, I will never commentate again and my focus will turn fully to my family and finding a way to move on with life.I do thank those of you who reach out to give support, it meant a lot to me and really helped me come to terms with closing what has been my life for 17 years.I am honored to have worked in an industry where my passion became my career and I am grateful for the opportunity to have shared my love of the game with so many like-minded people.
While many people might have expected an apology, Toby went the Redeye route and left the industry for good. It's unclear if there'll be any action in court, and at this point, it doesn't matter as the caster won't be returning to esports.
