LoL Patch 10.18 brings some new changes to the League of Legends landscape. We've compiled a list of some of the must-play mid-lane champs in the coming weeks.
In this LoL tier list, we'll show you the best champions for each lane in relation to Patch 10.18. We especially focus on win rate and the carry potential because often, you will have to carry your teammates in the gap through the game. Today, we will take a look at the mid lane.
Which Mid Laners Are Strong in LoL Patch 10.18?
5. Ahri (Win Rate: 49.8%)
Ahri has gained quite the upgrade with LoL patch 10.18 which is why she has appeared on our tier list. Riot upgraded her W skill to give her 40% movement speed which decays over 1.5 seconds once cast.
She also gained a new passive – Essence Theft – which was taken from her Q, and will stack for each enemy hit by her abilities. Once she has 9 stacks, the next spell will consume them to heal her for every enemy hit. With these upgrades, she is able to quickly move across the map while outplaying her opponents.
4. Ekko (Win Rate: 51.9%)
Ekko is the pick for you if you’re looking for a fun assassin with a chaotic play style. This AP Assassin is quick on his feet and has massive burst damage rivaled only by champs such as Fizz.
He can obliterate and one-shot opponents while staying ultimately pretty safe with his Chronobreak healing him back to health. Once he is ahead, he is almost unstoppable. Add in a cloud soul and he can fly over the map almost unstoppable.
3. Yone (Win Rate: 49.3%)
Yone is one of the most banned champions in Solo Queue, with over 56% of mid-laners banning Yassuo’s brother. This goes to show just how dangerous he can be once he is picked.
This champ has a high damage output as well as mobility which is not dependent on outside factors like minions. This makes him one of the strongest champions in the current meta. Yone is able to use his E and R to swiftly move around during a fight, making him perfect as an engage tool.
2. Kassadin (Win Rate: 51.9%)
Kassadin, similarly to a hypercarry, starts off weak but gets progressively better as the game goes on, scaling and becoming the late-game carry for your team. To counteract his weak laning phase, it’ll be useful to have Fleet Footwork as one of your runes to gain some health back.
Kassadin is hard to lock down, with his ultimate ability giving him an edge when it comes to evading the opposing players. This makes him unbelievably frustrating to play against in the mid and late game. Add in a few items and once he gets rolling, he is almost unstoppable.
1. Zed (Win Rate: 51.5%)
Zed is our Number 1 mid laner for a second week in a row. This shadow assassin is great against teams that don’t have any direct point-and-click cc since it is hard to pin him down due to his slipper W and R shadows. Zed is able to easily roam the map, shoving in sidelanes due to his mobility. He is able to slip in and out of danger while outplaying his opponents. He also has the speed to roam into the jungle and try to find unsuspecting enemies, then return to lane to catch the wave.
As mentioned last week, his laning phase is still pretty weak, so you’ll have to be careful, especially against any ranged champions. Staying healthy early on is key to be able to go off and roam later on in the game to carry your team to victory.
