The new patch has brought some changes to the Top Lane. With Guardian being nerfed any top lane champion feels just a tad bit stronger than in the last patch. We've compiled a list of champions you should definitely check out.

In this LoL tier list, we show you the best champions for each lane in relation to Patch 10.18. We especially focus on the win rate and the carry potential because often you will have to carry your teammates in any given game. Today, we will take a look at the top lane.

Which Champions Are the Strongest In the Top Lane in LoL Patch 10.18?

5. Jax (Win Rate: 50.5%)

Known mostly for his late game promise, Jax is not to be overlooked in the early game as well. He is a strong pick into melee champions, especially early on. He can harass opposing top laners by auto-attacking them, stacking his passive. His E also lets him take less damage from minions which lets you trade aggressively early on. His true power spike starts at level 6 though, so until then you’ll have to make sure to stay relatively safe, especially with threats of a gank. So, to truly enable the strength of Jax, make sure not to fall behind early and then watch as you out scale your opponent and become a top lane hypercarry.

4. Shen (Win Rate: 51.2%)

This patch Shen got nerfed and feels a bit more balanced than before. His passive shield was cut down from 70 to 121 to 60 to 111 which means he is a bit weaker in lane as well as less tanky in the late game this patch, but overall, his ability to make cross map plays, as well as his initiation and lane presence keep him in the top five for this patch. Shen has good peel as well as base damage which make him a threat in all stages of the game.

3. Urgot (Win Rate: 52.4%)

If you’re looking for a beefy scaling champion, then we’ve got the perfect pick for you in Urgot. This patch he has made the ranks and landed on sport three of best top laners. His laning phase isn’t the strongest, but if you manage to stay even and get to two items you become a heavy damage dealing unkillable monster. Picking up Black Cleaver as well as Death’s Dance makes him one of the strongest team fighting top laners. So be careful until you’ve managed to get those items and then go ham. In teamfights you’ll just have to run around with you W on and use your ultimate whenever you see a low enemy. Urgot is fun and his kit is easy to learn which makes him an ideal champ to try out this patch.

2. Darius (Win Rate: 50.2%)

Darius manages to be a well-rounded pick for this patch and is strong in all game situations. He has a strong early game you can easily pull in your opposing top laner for a kill, his mid game lets you win teamfights, especially if you burst someone with his ultimate, and in the late game Darius is a full-blown tank with insane damage output.

The 10.18 nerf to Guardian also helps him feel even stronger than he already is, since you’ll be heavily rewarded if you make it to the backline in a teamfight. You’ll be able to carry your team on your back as you overtake games with your strength.

1. Fiora (Win Rate: 51.5%)

Our number one Top Lane champion for this patch is Fiora. She is a strong lane bully who goes well into any pick. She is a high risk, high reward champion who relies heavily on split pushing rather than teamfighting. She is a damage dealer with lot of mobility who likes to roam into the side lanes and to split the enemy team apart.

Her teamfighting isn’t the greatest since she cannot cc anyone, nor is she a tank, but if you don’t give the other team a chance to teamfight, then this won’t be an issue. She is a late game hypercarry who can steal games right out from under the opponents' nose when played right. Her difficulty level is on the higher end of the spectrum so we suggest practicing her a bit before using her to climb SoloQ.

Sick of being stuck on your island in Top Lane? We've compiled lists for other lanes as well!
