Tomorrow, August 25, we will witness a battle of 20 Hearthstone personalities divided by pairs into two dual-class teams, duking it out for their share of a handsome $100,000 purse.
The long-running tradition of the star-powered Inn-vitational format continues, this time for the magical set of Scholomance Academy. Twenty of the game’s most prominent names will put their skills to the test and compete in a brand-new format designed especially for the event.
The new rules set goes as follows:
- Each team will bring four decks using cards from their Dual-Class pair, featuring no less than 10 Scholomance Academy cards overall.
- Each individual card-slinger will play through 4 rounds best-of-three matches by themselves, and each victory will bring their team 1 point.
- If both players on a team ace their match with a perfect 2-0, that pair will receive additional 2 points.
- After all, 4 rounds are completed, team placement and prizes will be announced.
So who’s playing? There are too many celebrities and teams to list, so just check out the official diagram:
There will also be prizes for people at home - watching the tournament for 2 hours will drop a Scholomance Academy pack in your account and watching for 4 will bring you another one. Make sure to link your Twitch and Battle.net accounts first, though.
The show starts on August 25 at 9:00 a.m. and will last until 7:00 p.m. PT.
