Unicorns of Love in League of Legends Worlds Main Event
It is hard to put into words how proud and happy we are. With this a dream has come true for us. Now we are looking forward to the next challenge and are ready to annoy the big ones.- Vivien Mallant, Unicorns of Love manager
Last year, the Unicorns and their Russian team made their first appearance at the Worlds as champions of the Continental League (LCL), but then narrowly failed in the play-ins.
This year, the Unicorns beat Super Massive from Turkey 3-0 in a best-of-five and qualified for the main round of the biggest Esports event of the year. Around 800,000 spectators followed the live stream on Twitch.
Great compliments to my team. The boys played outstandingly. We have already reached our goal. All that's left now is an encore. We are meticulously preparing for the following games and are coming up with something to make sure we will be able to compete in the Main Event as well.- Fabian "Sheepy" Mallant, Unicorns of Love player
The Main Event begins on October 3 in Shanghai, China, and will go on until October 30.
