It looks like the Dota 2 scene will be getting a nice push thanks to the latest collaboration between Valve and Movistar Liga Pro.
Dota 2 has seen a series of bad news in the last few months. The International 10 was postponed to 2021, the next season was also delayed for the first few months to next year and the 2020 Battle Pass comes to an end today. Isn’t anything nice coming?

Valve Partners with Movistar Liga Pro
Good news for all fans of Dota 2 in South America! Two events will be coming to the region, produced by Live Media Esports Entertainment and financed by Valve.
After twelve consecutive seasons, the Liga Pro Gaming has established itself as one of the most attractive esports leagues in Latin America, gaining the trust of the most relevant publishers in the world of competitive video games. Among them, Valve Corporation, the creator of Dota 2, which in Peru has more than two million players with registered accounts. The health crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic postponed the professional circuit of Dota 2 for the first months of 2021. In its objective of keeping the scene active and with attractive tournaments for South American fans, Valve has decided to financially support the important organizers and, with more solid projects in the region such as the Movistar Liga Pro Gaming, produced by Live Media Esports Entertainment.
The two tournaments will come a bit later this year and so far we only know they’d be in the last quarter of 2020. Chances are, we’ll see them go live before the holiday season, so our best guess is November.
CEO of Live Media, Luis Carrillo Pinto commented:
Dota 2 is the second most popular esport in Peru, with audiences that can even exceed professional soccer in some cases. This contribution from Valve is a demonstration of their interest in growing Dota 2 in our region and that they have appreciated the great effort we have made over these almost three years to professionalize the local scene. Our entire staff is preparing all the production details to create the best audiovisual and content experience for the enormous legion of esports fans in our country
Fans can also expect interviews with the captains of the most famous SA Dota 2 teams and it’ll all be broadcasted on the live on the Movistar Deportes channel.
