Valve update Mirage, open sky boxes on Train, Dust2

Valve released a minor update, which brings changes to some of the maps in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

Changes to Mirage, Train, Dust2, Cache and Studio

Mirage received the most makeup with this CS:GO update. A bench has been added in mid to enable self-boost to window and a peek towards catwalk. An AWP wallbang has been created from palace to the close corner of the scaffolding, making the CTs think twice before camping there.

An already existent jump-peek towards cat from middle of B Site is now blocked. The trim on the B Site balcony has been lowered, and the T-side entrance to mid got wider. This concludes the changes which seemingly aim towards opening up maneuvers in the early stages of the rounds with the minor, but significant alterations to mid and cat.

Train and Dust 2 both received skybox adjustments. On Train, the sky was opened over the building dividing Ivy and A Site. The skybox from B halls into the bombsite is where Valve touched Dust 2. There were additional minor bug fixes and visibility improvements on Train, Cache and Studio. The latter suffered from a weird bug which didn’t detect any damage from the bomb detonation, but that has now been repaired.

Some MISC updates are also part of the patch. Here are the full CS:GO patch notes on that:

  • Increased the size of HLTV broadcast server info message, controlled by a new setting “tv_broadcast_server_info_message_size_kb”.
  • Added a setting spec_xray_dropped_defusers to show xray outlines on dropped defuse kits.
  • Added a setting spec_xray_dropped_unoccluded to always xray dropped C4 and defuse kits.
  • Game state integration now allows to control precision of reported floating point values using an additional configuration section:
    • “output”
    • {“precision_time” “1”
    • “precision_position” “2”
    • “precision_vector” “2”}
