League of Legends drops a rather giant bear over our heads this weekend, as Volibear's complete update was shown and boy are we excited.
It's been a while since the community discussed Volibear, with him being the second champion to be reworked via a community vote, with Fiddlesticks being the first, which still terrifies us all to this day.
Bearly contained
The weekend saw thunderous roars, not just from the League of Legends community, but from Riot Games themselves, putting out a live stream that could have gone a little better than expected, but made us excited, anyway.
Volibear's lightning caused a few issues, please bear with us, we'll be back shortly!

Ahead of the reveal, LoL champion designer Nathan Lutz posted a lengthy thread on Reddit, discussing the future of Volibear.
We fought through the quarantine and Riot's transition into becoming a 100% remotely operated company in order to ship this monstrosity of a bear. We're proud of what we've built, and we hope you'll love it as much as we do."
Riot Games Bears all
The trailer over the weekend revealed all, from the brand-new reworked skins to new ones and his brand new abilities which look unbearable to go up against, and was the subject of discussion in the community, which was very quickly addressed in Nathan Lutz's Reddit post:
"If he ends up being too strong, too weak, too inefficient with certain builds, or whatever the case may be, we'll fix it. I promise you that we don't want Volibear to be overpowered on release."
Strong or weak aside, just look at this incredible glow-up!
From what we've seen, Volibear's changes are incredible and make him an exciting champion to play again. His new abilities breathe new life into this bear and we couldn't bear-lieve the results from Riot's hard work, especially during such uncertain times.
When does Volibear come out?
You can expect to see Volibear make his thunderous entrance to League of Legends on May 28, with a PBE upload on May 12 for testing purposes. We want to hear from you!
