The Valheim obsession continues and the more hours we pour into our favorite Viking survival open-world adventure, the more we begin to notice little inconveniences that really add up as time goes on. That’s why we decided to upgrade our Valheim server with some custom mods. Here are the ones we think are super useful!
5. Equipment and Quick Slots

The name is a big spoiler for this one. It basically improves the way you manage and equip your items such as armor pieces. Once you install this mod, instead of playing hide and seek with your equipped armor throughout the busy inventory window, you’ll see a separated, RPG-style screen featuring all your items.
This is so convenient that we can’t help but wonder why isn’t such a feature already in the game. Oh well, this is Early Access, so Iron Gate can always introduce an official hero inventory later.

4. Unrestricted Portals

Another little, but genius improvement, Simply put, this mod will allow you to take any item between portals. The mod also allows many custom options so you and your buddies can set some rules while simultaneously building in different parts of the world.
3. Clock
Download here: Clock
This is dead simple, yet so useful. It’s a clock. That’s all there is to it, it shows the time, so you don’t have to build a sundial. You can also change the font of the clock if you’re feeling fancy.
2. Craft Build Smelt Cook Fuel Pull From Containers
Download here: Craft Build Smelt Cook Fuel Pull From Containers
This Mod’s Name Is Quite The Mouthful... but it does exactly what it says on the tin. Instead of running to different chests to grab your pelts and whatnot, now you can craft without interruptions, and this little functionality will grab the items for you if they are stored in a container nearby. Realistic? No. Useful? Yes.

1. BetterUI
Download here: BetterUI
Can you guess what this one does? It improves the UI! On a serious note, this one is really convenient, because the changes are subtle but very utilitarian. It shows things like the level of your tools, improves the way your stats are displayed, and shows things like monster aggro, MMO-style. Best of all - you can mix and match the functions you want to use between the original version and the modded looks. Coolio!
