Made in Brazil and coach Wilton “zews” Prado are putting an end to their working collaboration. The team and the coach both came out with statements in which they shared their disappointment at the results the partnership produced.
Coaching the problem of Made in Brazil?
Made in Brazil hasn’t been as successful a project as anticipated, to say the least. Ever since the former SK Gaming roster switched organizations in the summer of 2018, the only trajectory they seem to be going in is downwards.
The team tried to go international by bringing Cloud9’s Jake “Stewie2K” Yip and Tarik “tarik” Celik on board in the early mibr days. A move that was considered a disaster. Also a move that brought Made in Brazil its first and only trophy in CS:GO – ZOTAC Cup Masters 2018. Imagine how unsuccessful subsequent transfers have been.
One of those transfers was the exchange between mibr and Team Liquid that sent Stewie2K to the ESL One Cologne 2016 finalists. In return, Made in Brazil received Epitacio “TACO” de Melo and coach zews. This way five of the six members of the double Major-winning Luminosity-SK roster – four players and the coach, were back together.
Fair to say the new version could not match the old one’s success. The Brazilians fell through the ranks fast and before long, star player Marcelo “coldzera” David chose to depart from his comrades and join FaZe Clan instead.
Way out of the top tier loop, mibr’s players, coach and management have reached the conclusion that the current state of affairs is unacceptable and apparently zews’ coaching is the main problem.
Both sides came out with the obligatory reserved “thank you” statement that doesn’t disclose much, but what is evident is that no one on board was particularly happy with how things had been going since zews and TACO’s return home.
The team will not be looking for a new coach. Ricardo “dead” Sinigaglia will take on coaching duties in addition to his managerial role.
Made in Brazil just won their Flashpoint Season 1 phase one group, which makes the timing of this announcement rather curious. Dare I predict some dirty laundry might be flashed to the public sooner than later. Or maybe that was the magical move to turn things around, who knows.
