We've searched the depths of the internet to find out when the PS5 will be released. Here's everything we know so far.
After the release of the PlayStation 5 design two months ago, rumors about the price and the release date were immediately circulating. We also talked about it in our video:
Let's go over the whole thing again. The opportunity for pre-orders should come up pretty soon, why? Sony needs lead time, and for such a highly hyped 5 Gen console, the release date and pre-order date should also have some distance.

In addition, the new Sony console should be released this year, so it's just a matter of months at this point.
Xbox Series X may launch on November 6th. A tipster tells me boxes of the new controllers have a do not open date of November 6th on them. These controllers leaked earlier this week https://t.co/oyhlbg2SKo pic.twitter.com/dq096shN7L

The last factor is the many leaks over the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Here, the most likely date was set for the Xbox in mid-November. More precisely, November 13, 2020, because according to Xbox, the game Yakuza: Like a Dragon is scheduled for launch. Considering the two consoles will try to release as close to one another as possible, it's safe to say that PS5 will follow right after. It could come earlier too, but we highly doubt it.
So what speaks for mid-November? The preparations for pre-order, the competitive pressure from Microsoft and the Xbox, and of course the holidays. After all, the shopping baskets would be full at Christmas and the extra time from November means that purchasing power would remain constant and there would be no bottlenecks. Oh, also Amazon France that messed up and posted some information that they shouldn't have.

Needless to say, the page above was taken down quickly. November 20 seems like a good bet, as it's a week before Black Friday and right before the start of the holiday season.
Of course, it's all still up in the stars, but the end of 2020 is fast approaching and for Sony it's been high noon for the last 2 months. We have plenty of time before the release and there's no doubt Sony will release some more info during that period, so stay tuned for more updates.
