Battlefield 2042 looks incredible in the trailers, but now fans are asking - how good does it look in person? And most importantly for next-gen users, will it run at 120fps. BF V already does for the Xbox Series X, so it's only really PlayStation users that need to worry about not getting 120fps on their PS5s.
Battlefield V is currently running at 1080p at 120 fps, and 4K at 60 fps On Xbox Series X. So no Xbox fans are having to frantically google what the Battlefield 2042 situation will be. But Battlefield V doesn't run that well on PS5 - or we should rather say doesn't benefit from the hardware that well. So PlayStation users have been trying to get an answer on what Battlefield 2042 will be capable of before they pre-order. You're probably one of them if you're reading this, so let's find out.
Will Battlefield 2042 Support 120 FPS On PS5?
No official word has been given yet, but (and this might be unwise) I'm going to go out on a limb and say it will be able to push120 fps at 1080p on PS5. They've achieved that on a now two-year-old game for the Xbox, and more importantly, their biggest competitors - Call of Duty - have achieved the same thing on PlayStation for a while now. It would be very surprising to us if EA failed in this respect, therefore.

When Can You First Try Battlefield 2042?
Alpha playtesting has now passed, and the full release isn't until October 22, but don't worry an open beta is coming, and you'll be able to try the game then - rumors suggest that this Beta will begin on September 4 for those who pre-order, and September 6 for everyone else. The leaker who suggested those beta dates has even suggested an exact time, but it's a relatively new leaker on the scene and so we can't say we trust this source reliably yet. But either way, this is what they claimed:
