The PKP-BP is a bit of a hog, but it puts out 200 rounds at 800rpm without stopping, so for that kind of firepower you've got to expect tradeoffs. This is basically the "typical LMG", and if that's your thing, you're going to love it. Let's dive into the setup guide.

Best Attachments for the PKP-BP

For a PKP you'll find yourself swapping between these three attachment slots using the new attachment system quite regularly. The handling buffs of the short-range build are too good not to switch to when you're on the move, while the recoil stabilization of the best and long-range setups is crucial for holding power positions.

The PKP Pecheneg is one of the most iconic guns to make it into Battlefield 2042. The PKP will be over four decades old by the year 2042 though, and this is reflected in the lack of fancy modern attachments. You can think of this weapon as the more typical LMG of the two that were available on launch; where the LCMG is more mobile the PKP is heavier and more sluggish. It hits like a truck though, so if you're willing to play patiently this could be a weapon for you. Unfortunately, there's very little we can do to improve handling for the short-range build, but swapping down from high-power mags to standard-issue will buy you a little more mobility.

You can see the effects of these three attachment setups beneath.

The stats can't be considerably changed on the PKP, but that's not necessarily a problem. It starts with great firepower fairly respectable range. Its handling is very poor on base and there's only so much we can do to counteract that, but at least we don't have to make it significantly worse for the long-range build. If you check out our LCMG build though, you'll see how much more versatile that weapon can be by comparison.

Best Specialist, Secondary Weapon, Throwable & Gadget for the PKP-BP

Specialist: Webster Mackay

Webster Mackay is a popular pick, and while we're sorry not to be more original, we think he's probably the best pick for an LMG user. His passive trait provides a straight buff to mobility and this is the one problem area for any LMG build. Plus, none of the other Specialists offer anything that can complment a PKP.

Secondary Weapon: MP28

Handling, handling, handling. That's what you're lacking and that's what the MP28 can give you. Need to run and jump off this building before the enemy makes another bombing run? Maybe you need to get inside before the tornado reaches you? Swap to the MP28 and you'll make it. Plus it's the best sidearm in a gunfight, so it might save your life when you're busy reloading the PKP.

Throwable: Frag

None of the throwables will serve a heavy LMG user well, but at least with a frag you can open up new sightlines and set up shop with the PKP in buildings you otherwise couldn't.

Gadget: Ammo Box

As we said up top, you're laying down potentially 200 rounds of ammunition with the PKP at a time. So yes, you're going to burn through it very quickly, and the ammo box is going to become a pretty clutch gadget.

Well, there you have it, folks, the complete rundown of how to build the best attachment setup and loadout for the PKP-BP.
