Battlefield 2042 has finally launched. Now it's time to get into the details: what are the best weapons and what attachment setups do you want? Here's the best loadout for the SVK.
This is apparently Russia's answer to the SR-25 in the year 2042 - the SVK, a short-stroke DMR presumably chambered in 7.62 x 54mmR. In-game you can think of it as the semi-auto sniper rifle, but since the sniper class of weapons in this game are categorized as bolt-actions, the SVK has had to find a home amongst "marksman rifles". It's a fun sniper rifle, and we expect it to be fairly popular. Here's the best setup guide for the SVK.

Best Attachments for the SVK
Although the long-range setup beneath is going to be worth equipping when you've found your spot, getting to wherever that location is alive will require a gun with better handling. This is where the short-range and best all-around setups come in, and should serve you admirably.
Best Setup | Best Short-Range Setup | Best Long-Range Setup
Sight | Maul Hybrid | Maul Hybrid | M11 6X |
Ammunition | High-Power | Standard Issue Extended | High-Power |
Underbarrel | LWG Grip | Rattlesnake Light Grip | ADR Bipod |
Barrel | Champion Muzzle Break | Shortened Barrel | Extended Barrel |
The K8 holo is an available sight for the SVK, and we were tempted to use it for the short-range build, but honestly, this weapon feels like a sniper in disguise so we didn't. With that in mind, we've gone up to a 6x on the long-range build and it really doesn't feel out of place. But if you want to remain a bit more mobile throughout the game, we found the Maul Hybrid to offer the best versatility. You can see the effects of these three attachment setups beneath.
Attachment Effects on the SVK
Default | Best Setup | Best Short-Range Setup | Best Long-Range Setup
Firepower | 75 | 75 (0) | 75 (0) | 75 (0) |
Accuracy | 66 | 91 (+25) | 61 (-5) | 76 (+10) |
Range | 73 | 88 (+15) | 81 (+8) | 89 (+16) |
Handling | 31 | 28 (-3) | 36 (+5) | 20 (-11) |
The SVK starts with sniper-like stats but as you can see in the short-range build we can push it up to 36 handling. Which, obviously isn't fantastic, but for a build that maintains +80 range and 75 firepowers we're pretty happy with it. You could go the other way and lean into the SVK as a sniper rifle, but this is a weapon that's going to be very much dependent on what's most comfortable for you as the end-user.
Best Specialist, Secondary Weapon, Throwable & Gadget for the SVK
Specialist: Webster Mackay
Webster Mackay might strike some of you as a strange choice; his zip-line-shooting gadget seems best suited to a Specialist with an AR or an SMG. But the ability to reach great heights as quickly as Mackay can we found to work really well with sniper and sniper-like weapons, such as the SVK.
Secondary Weapon: MP28
The MP28 gives you everything you want from a backup sidearm. It's quick and it's easy to use, but it also has great range and accuracy. And more so than the other sidearms, we think the MP28 can sub in for a primary weapon, almost like a mini VCAR.
Throwable: Frag
What can we say - not an original choice, but none of the throwables are going to be that great to use alongside the SVK. They just won't mesh well with what's effectively a sniper, but at least with the frag you can cause environmental damage and open new sight-lines.
Gadget: FXM 33 AA Missile
We love this gadget, in fact, it may be the single best gadget in the game. It's very easy to use and it's devastatingly effective against aircraft, which are going to be your biggest threats if you're rocking a sniper rifle and holding out on good vantage points.
Well, there you have it, folks, the complete rundown of how to build the best attachment setup and loadout for the SVK.
