Battlefield 2042 Open Beta Dates Revealed In New Trailer

Battlefield 2042's Open Beta dates have been revealed. EA themselves confirmed the dates with another great trailer showing more of Battlefield 2042 (above). Keep reading for details.

Battlefield 2042's open beta will take place in October. Don't worry, after all the other delays, this time they are 100% serious about the new dates. No taksie-backsie's this time EA. So you can relax and prepare for the event without fearing you'll regret taking holiday.

Update: We updated this article on September 28 to add the newly released trailer for the beta.

When Is The Battlefield 2042 Open Beta?

The Battlefield beta will run from October 8-9, and from October 6 with early access. This will be a very short beta, which has raised some eyebrows in the community, but let's reserve judgment until we see it.

Unfortunately, EA has not told us exactly what we'll get in the Beta, but we think it's a fair assumption to suppose that we'll be getting a couple of Multiplayer maps and perhaps Conquest, plus one other, smaller, game mode.

Like keeping up to speed with all things Battlefield? So do we, here's a few of the new additions in case you missed anything:

What Caused The Delay?

We don't know exactly what caused the initial delays, if you remember the beta was supposed to have been and gone, but if you take a look at the technical playtest feedback you can make some good guesses. A lot of people disliked the Specialist system but it might be too late for a rework. There were also a lot of reports of very poor optimization and low frame rate, so perhaps this delay bought them time to make technical upgrades.

Either way, we wish them the best and hope that this beta is everything the people have been asking for. One does worry with all this hype we might end up in a Cyberpunk situation, but (touch wood) let's hope it doesn't come to that.
