Just hours ago, the Battlefield insider Tom Henderson leaked feedback from the 2042 playtesters. Apparently, tornados are repetitive and ruin the flow of the game. Tornados were supposed to be among the most exciting features coming to Battlefield 2042, so EA DICE must be panicking right now. Details below.

When we saw the Battlefield 2042 trailer for the first time we were blown away. The whole thing was a spectacle, a tour de force for modern shooters. And the great crescendo of that trailer, you'll remember, was a tornado that pulled soldiers and vehicles alike up into itself. It was terrifying, and it looked incredible. But in play? The tornados are apparently garbage.

It's disappointing news – to be sure - but it makes sense; why would players want to be lifted above the map every game when they're trying to cap flags?

That's unfortunate news. These tornados have featured prominently in all the marketing material, so they were surely a spectacle EA DICE were hoping to wow us with. Worse still, this feedback doesn't seem to come from a single source, as Henderson went on to add:

Let's just hope they are indeed improved before launch.

Can We Trust This Leak?

Tom Henderson has been fairly reliable in regards to Battlefield 2042 leaks recently, so we think this news about the tornados is quite believable. That said, news on Battlefield 2042 will reliably bring a content creator lots of attention at the moment, so it's easy to see why someone might exaggerate what they know. For now, we can only wait to see if these rumors are corroborated by others. So far EA DICE has not responded, no doubt laser-focused on fixing or removing the tornados already.
