EA have now confirmed an open beta for Battlefield 2042; an opportunity for fans to try the much–anticipated shooter ahead of its official release date. Players around the world are naturally wondering: how can you apply for the Battlefield 2042 open beta? Well, we've got all the details on how you can join the beta right here.
Battlefield 2042 is the darling of the shooter community right now, especially with such disappointing news leaking about this year's Call of Duty: WW2 Vanguard. By comparison to that Battlefield is looking far more promising with its massive maps, the new specialist class system, and even talk of a 'Survival Mode'. You can imagine the excitement so many have to actually try Battlefield 2042, so news of open beta was going to be significant, albeit predictable.
Update: We updated this page on September 6 to reflect new information about the release date - a reliable leaker confirmed one suggestion.
How Can You Apply For The Battlefield 2042 Open Beta?
You can get early access to the beta by pre-ordering the game, but if you don't you should still be able to freely access the playtesting event. So it's not that you need to pay out for the Gold or Ultimate editions to access the open beta, those folks just get the content early.

When Is The Battlefield 2042 Open Beta?
Update: The Battlefield 2042 beta will begin on September 22nd for early-access players, and on September 24, for everyone else.
Unfortunately, EA has not told us exactly what we'll get in the Beta, but we think it's a fair assumption to suppose that we'll be getting a couple of Multiplayer maps and perhaps Conquest, plus one other, smaller, game mode.
For this information, a lot of leakers were suggesting the date, but a recent Tweet from a reliable and long-term insider persuaded us:
September 22nd seems to be early access because that's when the media embargo lifts (media are recording Sept 20th). So I would assume the beta is open to everyone on Sept 24th. https://t.co/yA5Bi5P0DW

We felt it necessary to update the article with Tom Henderson's information because as much as these dates seem to be changing from one leaker to the next, he appears to have actual contacts within EA.
