This year's Battlefield is looking great but as we approach that date more and fans are beginning to ask: will Battlefield 2042 Have A Battle Royale? Some players want one, others loath the idea, but will it even happen?Well...it's a little more complicated than that...
Battlefield has always been great at huge, open play. The franchise is famous for it. They should, therefore, be able to make a decent Battle Royale. So, why is this issue so divisive among the fans? The problem is their self–image.
Battlefield fans see their community as an antidote to Call of Duty in some sense; where Call of Duty is 'sweaty' and arcade-y, Battlefield is more serious and objective–focused. And Battle Royales are seen as typical of this 'Call of Duty' mindset. Full of sweaty tryhards working for themselves and their own k/d. So, understandably, EA DICE wants to persuade the fans that their game is distinct from that. Here's their solution.
Will Battlefield 2042 Have A Battle Royale?
EA have stated publically that they will not launch Battlefield 2042 with a Battle Royale, but they are releasing Hazard Zones on launch, which sounds exactly like a Battle Royale. They're adding a Battlefield twist on the concept of BRs, enough to make the game seem 'revolutionary' and 'game-changing', but in every meaningful way, it seems that we are indeed getting a BR experience.

What Is Hazard Zones?
Hazard Zones is an intense, high–stakes game played across a massive map, in which certain parts of the map will be made off-limits by a radioactive mechanic - hence, 'Hazard Zones'. We have a full breakdown of the game mode in this article, and you might actually get to see a bit of the Hazard Zones gameplay in a few days at EA Play Live. But as we've said, it looks like a Battle Royale with a twist. And if the twist doesn't work:

So in a sense, yes Battlefield 2042 will have a Battle Royale. We just can't call it that because it triggers folk.
When Will Battlefield 2042 Be Released?
Battlefield 2042 will be released on November 19, 2021. Despite the worrying delay on their original release date (October 22), we're confident they've put the time to good use. Because of their delays, it's still unclear how much Early Access the devs can provide for pre-order customers. At this point, our best advice is to not pre-order, and wait to be certain...no one wants another Cyberpunk...
