The plethora of Killstreaks in Warzone add much-needed variety and strategy to combat encounters. What are they, how do they work, and which ones are available?
Killstreaks are some of the most powerful tools we get in Call of Duty games. This is also the case in Warzone. We know Killstreaks and Scorestreaks mainly from the annual multiplayer releases, but some of them have also made it into the Battle Royale spin-off Warzone. In this article, we'll take a closer look at which Killstreaks are actually available in Warzone and how you can get them. Killstreaks in Warzone work a bit differently than in multiplayer.
All Killstreaks In Warzone
Following are all the currently available Killstreaks in Warzone, how to unlock them, what they do and how best you can use them. Enjoy!
UAV/Advanced UAV (Drone)
The drone, or spy plane, is probably one of the most useful, if not the most useful, killstreak in Warzone. As in multiplayer, once activated, it reveals enemies on the minimap in a very large radius. Any players not protected by the Ghost Perk will show up as a red dot on the minimap for the duration of the UAV. If a squad manages to have three drones in the air at the same time, it receives an Advanced UAV. This also reveals enemy players on the minimap, but shows them as red arrows, so you know exactly which direction the revealed player is facing.
UAVs in Warzone can either be bought at buy stations or found as loot. They are not particularly rare, and every squad should always make sure to have at least one drone ready. Information about the whereabouts of your opponents is worth its weight in gold.
Cluster Strike
The cluster strike is basically a mortar attack. You mark an area with a laser pointer and that area is then bombarded with mortars for several seconds. This is extremely useful if you have an elevated position from which you can survey a wide area. The area hit by the cluster strike is not incredibly large, so it can be difficult to use against rooftop campers if you don't have a view of the rooftop itself.
Cluster strikes can also be purchased at buy stations or found as look. They are quite useful and allow you to make smaller areas completely inaccessible for a short time or take out enemies behind cover. If you have the choice, however, we recommend that you rather collect the next killstreak.
Yes, we had quite a few movie cross-overs in Warzone already:
Precision Airstrike
The precision air strike calls in fighter jets for support, which then fly over a marked area and take it under fire. To use the killstreak, use binoculars to mark the area to be attacked. Since the "strip" under fire is relatively long, you can use the precision air strike to perfectly take out campers on rooftops without having to look at the roof. Just aim the binoculars at the wall of the house and the jets will catch anyone holed up on the roof.
Precision air strikes can also be bought at buy stations or even found as loot. If you don't have a UAV with you, the precision air strike is definitely the second choice.
Combat Bow
The Combat Bow in Warzone is originally from Black Ops Cold War and shoots explosive arrows that cause a lot of damage. However, it's not that easy to hit with this thing. Especially at a distance, you have to aim very far above an enemy, as the arrows drop quite violently. However, you can down any enemy with just one hit and even destroy a helicopter with just one shot, so the bow is definitely worth... "a shot". Huh, I'm funny.
Oh and, unlike the killstreaks mentioned above, the Combat Bow is only available as loot, so it can't be bought at buy stations.
War Machine
The War Machine has been part of Call of Duty for ages and is simply a thick, semi-automatic grenade launcher. Typical for a grenade launcher, the range isn't particularly great, and the grenades fly in an arc, so you have to hold it up properly if you want to fight at a distance. That being said, the damage dealt by the War Machine is absolutely awesome and, of course, the War Machine is also extremely effective against vehicles.
Like the Combat Bow, the War Machine can only be found as loot and cannot be bought at buying stations.
Deathmachine
The Deathmachine/Deathbringer is a thick minigun – a portable Gatling Gun. You can't aim the gun, of course, and it takes a few seconds to "start up" before it starts firing. At longer distances, the spread is too high to hit anything, but at short to medium range, you'll shave off everything with the Deathmachine/Deathbringer.
The minigun can also be found as loot and is not available at buying stations.
What Are Killstreaks?
Killstreaks In Call of Duty
Killstreaks or Scorestreaks we know mainly from the multiplayer Call of Duty games. These strong supports, such as controllable missiles, helicopter guns, drones and much more, are tied to points or kills in multiplayer. In Modern Warfare, you earn killstreaks by collecting a certain number of kills without dying. As soon as you die, the counter is reset. For example, a drone requires four kills without dying. In Black Ops, however, we have scorestreaks. These are not just tied to kills, but include the entire cumulative score – so you can also get progress by completing objectives. A drone, for example, would require 1000 points here. Before the match, players can select a total of three kill or scorestreaks for their multiplayer loadout, and only these can be earned during the match.
Killstreaks In Warzone
In Warzone, however, Killstreaks work completely differently. Only a few select killstreaks are available in Warzone at all, and they cannot be selected in the loadout or unlocked during the match. Instead, Killstreaks in Warzone must always be either purchased at buy stations or found as loot. Many killstreaks can drop from crates as loot or can also be earned via contracts. The most important ones are also available at any time at buy stations.
That's all there is to say about Killstreaks in Warzone. We will, of course, update this article as soon as new killstreaks are added, or old ones are removed. Until then, though, check out how you can improve your FPS in Warzone!
