There really isn't a lot to write home about the AS44, it's your run-of-the-mill AR and, you know what? There's nothing wrong with that. Here's our optimal AS44 Setup Guide!
Call of Duty: Vanguardhas launched with a ton of classic WWII guns, but for every gun, we have an astonishing amount of attachments to choose from. Seriously, Vanguard offers ten attachments slots per weapon! Where do you even begin? This is madness! Don't worry, we've got all the answers in our Vanguard weapon setup guides, And today: the AS44.
The AS44 is a pretty solid Assault Rifle in Vanguard, but it's nothing special. Honestly, this AR is pretty easy to use, and pretty reliable, but with stats that always fall kind of in the middle, it doesn't stand out in any particular way. With reasonable speed, reasonable firepower, reasonable anything, the best way to play the AS44 is fully-decked out with a few attachments that give it a boost in some more wanting areas. Check out our tier ranking of every weapon in Vanguard for an idea of how well the AS44 places. In the meantime, let's talk setup...
The AS44 Attachment Setup
- Muzzle: Recoil Booster
- Barrel: Kovalevskaya 615MM
- Optic: Slate Reflector
- Stock: Zac 12b Custom
- Underbarrel: SMLE Pistol Grip
- Magazine: .30 Russian Short 60 Round Mags
- Ammo Type: Frangible
- Rear Grip: Fabric Grip
- Proficiency: Sleight of Hand
- Kit: Fully Loaded
With ten attachments, we can do almost anything we want. With the AS44, we're just looking to prop up a few of those more lagging stats. Let's sacrifice a decent amount of speed to pop on that big magazine. In other words, we're going for suppressive fire, we're going for more of a support build, we're going to use this a bit more like an LMG-AR hybrid. As always, for guns of this type, the Slate Reflector optic is optimal, as we're not going for range in this setup, and we've included both Sleight of Hand and Fully Loaded to increase reload speed and your maximum starting ammo respectively. In addition, Frangible will slow enemies down, so it goes even further to suppress the enemy and act as a support weapon.
The Equipment & Perks On An AS44 Loadout
From what we've played so far, the meta loadout will look something like this:
- Secondary Weapon: Machine Pistol
- Lethal: Thermite
- Tactical: Stuns
- Perk 1: Ghost
- Perk 2: Radar
- Perk 3: Demolition
- Field Upgrade: Armor Plates
The above will almost certainly be the multiplayer meta for an AS44 loadout unless they make serious balance changes. The Armor Plates in particular are in need of a nerf, but whether one comes... we'll have to wait and see.
