Call of Duty: Vanguard launches with a ton of classic WWII guns. But for every gun, we have an astonishing amount of attachments to choose from, and we can use ten at once. So, where do you even begin? What attachments do you need? Don't worry, we'll give you all the answers in our Vanguard weapon setup guides. And today: the Bren.
The Bren gun is a hefty LMG, and when you first get it, you think it's pointless. It's very slow and there's a giant vertical mag sticking out the top of the Bren that obscures your vision. But give it a while, grind it out a little, and with a few key attachments, you can make this thing a great support option. It's never going to get fast – so don't try and throw on all the mobility attachments at once. Instead, work with it as a slower weapon; play more patiently and allow enemies to sprint into you. Do all this, and you'll find the Bren a perfectly viable weapon.
Check out our top 10 weapons in Vanguard for an idea of how well the weapon places. It's not S-tier, but it certainly has its role in the game.
The Bren Attachment Setup
- Muzzle: Recoil Booster
- Barrel: Oak & Shield 690MM Model 2B
- Optic: Slate Reflector
- Stock: Oak & Shield 12B
- Underbarrel: Heavy Foregrip
- Magazine: .50 BMG 50 Round Mag
- Ammo Type: Hollow Point
- Rear Grip: Fabric Grip
- Proficiency: Sleight of Hand
- Kit: Fully Loaded
Yes, the Bren isn't the best LMG, but with the 50-BMG ammo, this thing pops like nothing. Seriously, the Bren has some serious stopping power. Here's a ranking of all the LMGs in Vanguard.
The Equipment & Perks On An Bren Loadout
From what we've played so far, the meta loadout will look something like this:
- Secondary Weapon: Machine Pistol (With 40-round Tokarev mags, you really don't need Overkill)
- Lethal: Thermite
- Tactical: Stuns
- Perk 1: Fortified
- Perk 2: Radar
- Perk 3: Double Time
- Field Upgrade: Armour Plates
The above will almost certainly be the multiplayer meta for a Bren loadout unless they make serious balance changes. The Armour Plates in particular are in need of a nerf, but whether one comes... we'll have to wait and see.
