Some players will always gravitate to single-fire weapons, and to those folks we can highly recommend the Lachman-762. Here's the best attachment setup for the Lachmann-762, and a loadout to use it with.
Have you got an itchy trigger-finger? Do you love to unload in semi-auto? Then the Lachmann-762 is the weapon for you (they have to call it the "Lachmann-762" because they don't have the license to call it by its actual name: the HK G3). This is basically a very heavy AR, like the FAL from MW2019, but unlike the FAL it can go full-auto. Although it's so uncontrollable in full-auto that you might as well just keep it in single-fire, especially for mid to long-range distances. Right, enough throat-clearing, if you still want to use the Lachmann-762 then here's the best attachment setup.
You can check out our complete tier-list of Battle Rifles here for more details.
MW2: Lachmann-762 Attachment Setup
Attachment Slot | Attachment Name | Unlock Level |
Muzzle | Polarfire Suppressor | Lachmann 762 Level 5 |
Barrel | Romeo FT 16" Barrel | Lachmann 762 Level 13 → Lachman .556 Level 16 → RAPP H Level 15 |
Optic | Schlager 4x | Lachmann 762 Level 13 → Lachman .556 Level 16 → RAPP H Level 11 |
Stock | LM-S Factory G79 | Lachmann 762 Level 10 |
Underbarrel | VX Pineapple Vert Grip | M4 Level 18 → Icarus Level 14 |
With this build we're trying to maximize damage and recoil control, to make us more capable at range. You could go in the other direction and try to make the weapon more mobile, or give it bigger mags to make full-auto more viable, but we found we were getting the most use out of the G3 by staying back and keeping it in single-fire. In regard to optics, you could drop the Schlager 4x for something with less intense magnification, but the sight picture and reticle are so damn clean on the Schlager that we're sticking with it.
Note: We aren't using Overkill in this class, so you'll need to take a secondary. We advise the X13, but if you want something else, here's a ranking of all the sidearms in Modern Warfare 2.

Lachmann-762 Loadout: Best Perks & Equipment
Perks (Base, Bonus & Ultimate)
Here's our favorite perk choice for a weapon like this:
Base Perks | Battle Hardened, E.O.D. |
Bonus Perk | Fast Hands |
Ultimate Perk | Ghost |
We've been quite boring again and chose the meta perks. But, you know, they are meta perks for a reason. Battle Hardened and E.O.D. give you a combined passive buff against all types of grenades, while Fast Hands will allow you to reload more quickly (particularly useful given the weapon's default 10-round mag), and Ghost is essential against UAV spam. And trust us, this game suffers from near constant UAV spam because the lack of a classic minimap makes it a must-pick for most players.
You can find a complete list of every perk in MW2 here, in case you want to see what else is on offer.
Equipment (Lethals, Tacticals & Field Upgrade)
Here are our favorite grenades and one of the best field upgrades:
Lethal | Semtex |
Tactical | Stuns |
Field Upgrade | Portable UAV |
The Semtex is a great option for an easy-to-use lethal, although if you're comfortable using the Drill Charge we can also recommend it as a very strong Lethal choice. For the tactical we went with the ever-popular Stuns, as these can be used to both check for enemies camping around corners, and to give us an advantage on the push. And to round us out we've taken the Portable UAV for our field upgrade, which is perfect for camping power positions.
We hope you'll enjoy the Lachmann-762. But if you want to see which other weapons are available in Modern Warfare 2, we have a complete list of weapons here.
