Vanguard Weapon Setup Guides - The DP27

Call of Duty: Vanguard launches with a ton of classic WWII guns. But for every gun, we have an astonishing amount of attachments to choose from, and we can use ten at once. So, where do you even begin? What attachments do you need? Don't worry, we'll give you all the answers in our Vanguard weapon setup guides. And today: the DP27.

The DP27 is a weapon that many readers will be familiar with from previous World War 2 games. Commonly, it's called the 'pizza gun' (because of the distinctive top-loaded drum magazine) and we have seen it a ton over the years. In most games where it's previously appeared though it's been little more than a forgettable LMG for the Russian faction to use. In Vanguard things are different.

This is the most mobile of the LMGs, it's akin to the Bruen, and yet it still delivers on range and damage. That's really everything you want from LMGs that can be spec'd for the more aggressive, short-range style; exactly what you need for the traditional multiplayer experience.

Check out our top 10 weapons in Vanguard for an idea of how well the weapon places. Needless to say, it's high enough that we think this makes a solid choice for any player to start leveling.

The DP27 Attachment Setup

  • Muzzle: Recoil Booster
  • Barrel: Kovalevskaya 604mm
  • Optic: Slate Reflector

  • Magazine: 7.62x54MMR 105 Round Pans
  • Ammo Type: Hollow Point

This setup increases firepower and magazine size so you can shred enemies forever without reloading. Try it yourself if you don't believe us.

The Equipment & Perks On An DP27 Loadout

From what we've played so far, the meta loadout will look something like this:

  • Secondary Weapon: Machine Pistol
  • Lethal: Thermite
  • Tactical: Stuns
  • Perk 1: Ghost
  • Perk 2: Radar
  • Perk 3: Demolition
  • Field Upgrade: Armour Plates

The above will almost certainly be the multiplayer meta for a DP27 loadout unless they make serious balance changes. The Armour Plates in particular are in need of a nerf, but whether one comes... we'll have to wait and see.
