Ground War has been confirmed for Modern Warfare 2, and we've already been told about a couple of the larger maps. Here's what we know so far.
If you were lucky enough to catch Modern Warfare 2's reveal trailer then you would have noticed quite a few tanks were featured. Of course these will probably appear in the campaign. But of course, where else might we find tanks? In Ground War. Yep, this fan-favorite mode from Modern Warfare 2019 is set to make a comeback. And with Ground War being in MW2, this also allows the devs to playtest areas of the Warzone 2 map, just like they did with Verdansk. So it's a win-win for the devs and the players alike. Anyway, enough rambling, here's everything we know about the return of Ground War.

Ground War Is Returning For Modern Warfare 2
The beloved 50vs50 Ground War mode from Modern Warfare 2019 will be returning to Modern Warfare 2. In this mode you play on maps that are basically sections of the Warzone map, and you also have vehicles. The Ground War mode is kind of like domination but with two extra capture points.
Here are the two Ground War maps we've heard about so far:
- Sayeed: This was described by Infinity Ward as an intense urban area that offers tight spaces and choke points. Although it will also have space for ground vehicles, apparently.
- Sarif Bay: This is a tourist fishing village, designed to incorporate amphibious vehicles and all the new water based mechanics.
...it sounds like the new Warzone map could offer us quite the variety then. Goodness, this is sounding like a good year for Call of Duty.
That's all there is to say about this aspect of Modern Warfare 2. We're learning so much about this game every day, and there are loads of new gameplay features and changes to look forward to, thanks to the new engine.
