Modern Warfare 3 will continue the MW2 story and conclude the rebooted Modern Warfare series. We already know a lot about MW3 and keep getting new info by the day. In a recent blog post, Activision now told us about a few new gameplay mechanics they will introduce with Modern Warfare 3. But hey don't worry all you CoD hardcore fans, they will also bring back some popular features from the past.

Modern Warfare 3 Mutliplayer Fetaures

In the following, we will shortly explain each new gameplay feature and also tell you which popular features will return.

New Gameplay Mechanics

Tac-Stance

The new Tac-Stance will be a new stance between hip-fire and aiming down sights. In this stance, your operator unshoulders the weapon and holds it in a canted firing position. Players will be able to toggle in and out of Tac-Stance while aiming down sights. This stance is designed for aggressive, close-quarter combat situations and best described as a middle ground between full ADS and hip-fire.

Evolving Loadouts

Apart from just customizing your weapons with a ton of different attachments, MW3 will also add other military equipment to your loadouts. In MW3, you will be able to also add and customize gloves, tactical vests, boots and more.

With the so called After-Market Parts, players will be able to customize their guns even more. After-Market Parts enable you to construct unique weapon configurations or types, such as customizing a machine gun into a bullpup configuration.

Return of Classic Gameplay Mechanics

  • Map Voting: Yes, Map Voting will return! After every match, players will be able to vote for the next map they want to play.
  • Classic Minimap: We will also get back the classic minimap again, meaning that firing an unsuppressed weapon will be indicated by red dots on the map again.
  • Perks: All perks will be available at the start of the match, they don't have to be unlocked anymore.
  • Increased Health: Health in multiplayer is increased to 150 HP, leading to a longer TTK.
  • Slide Canceling: Slide canceling is back. Yes, not everyone will be happy about this one, but at least it will not reset Tactical Sprint, meaning it can't be abused like before.
  • Reload Cancel: In MW3 you will be able to cancel partial reloads during animation.
  • Tac-Sprint: Tac-Sprint will be longer and recharge during normal sprint.

And that's all we know about the new and old gameplay mechanics in Modern Warfare 3. What do you think of the changes? Are you happy with all of them, or wish they would have stuck with the Modern Warfare 2 mechanics?
