It's happening. The Intervention is making a comeback in CoD: MW2 & Warzone 2 Season 3.
It's 2009. Afrosamurai227 and XxDragonFuryxX are loading in besides you. Ahead, the open tarmac of the runway. And what's this in your hands? Why, if it isn't the greatest sniper rifle in Call of Duty history: the Intervention.
Maybe it's because the weapon itself had a certain je ne sais quoi, or maybe it's simply because we were all playing one of the best Call of Duty games ever made during the golden years of Xbox Live. But either way, any older CoD fans will remember this weapon fondly, which is why it's no wonder that Call of Duty are bringing it back.
Call of Duty: Intervention Returns In MW2 & Warzone 2 Season 3 As The "FJX Imperium"
In Warzone 2 and MW2's third season the Intervention sniper from the OG MW2 will make a return as the FJX Imperium. If you're wondering why they can't use the real name of the weapon anymore, it's because a law was passed in California in the intervening years that prohibits firearm brand names from appearing in video games. But don't be mistaken, this is the Intervention.
Here is a pic of the weapon from the roadmap:
It looks crisp, and we're certain it'll be an absolute hit in multiplayer. But what about Warzone 2? Sadly, unless they make the change fans want and revert to one-shot snipers, we don't see it breaking into the S or A-Tier of the best weapon in WZ2.
Will you be hopping back on for Season 3 to try the new weapon in Ranked?
Surely we'll get more great weapons from the past in CoD 2023:
