Treyarch have revealed limited details about what we can expect from Vanguard's post-launch Zombies content, including Season One and beyond.
Call of Duty: Vanguard is bringing a whole lot of content to Zombies at launch, including a bunch of Artefacts and Dark Aether Entities, weapons, skills, and more. We will continue the story developed in Black Ops Cold War, and explore the origins of the Zombie threat.
After launch, though, we will continue to see the story developed. Season One of Call of Duty: Vanguard, and its Warzone content, will begin on December 2, bringing a whole lot of new Zombies content with it. In the Call of Duty Blog post that revealed all we now know about Vanguard's Zombies mode, we found out a number of details about Vanguard Zombies Season One...
What is Coming to Zombies in Vanguard Season One?
We can expect a collection of new content and features, including new objectives, Covenants, and weapons, in Season One. Call of Duty: Vanguard's new Zombies mode is looking to be highly extensive, though admittedly less-so than Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War at launch.
That being said, we do know that Vanguard will continue the Dark Aether Storyline that BOCW started, and we now know that that Season One will bring the "arrival of an unexpected ally". What could this mean?
Treyarch actually revealed a decent amount about what will come to Zombies in Call of Duty: Vanguard's first season on December 2, including a few minor details on what to expect from the main quest...
This Main Quest will be tied to the arrival of an unexpected ally after Season One, which will further expand the narrative of the Dark Aether, and reveal more details about the characters and entities that players will have encountered thus far... Post-launch, the team will also add new Artifacts as additional Dark Aether entities join the fight against their ancient enemy, Kortifex. Each of these entities will bring their own unique powers and personalities to the game for an even more immersive experience as the seasons continue.
The bigger question, however, is what gameplay additions, changes, and content will we be receiving when Season One drops. Luckily for anyone reading this article, Treyarch also revealed that...
How Will Vanguard Season One Change Zombies?
- New Zombies content and features
- A new Objective
- Additional Covenants
- New Weapons
- Zombies Season Challenges for Season One
- Holiday-Themed Updated
- "Surprise Elements" to come later in Season One
- New Artefacts
- Additional Dark Aether Entities
The main quest is set to continue to evolve throughout Call of Duty: Vanguard's several seasons. We expect that the game will get six seasons, the same number as both Black Ops Cold War and Modern Warfare. Unlike with BOCW, however, we hope that Vanguard's integration with Warzone will not result in a complete mess.
A lot is coming to Vanguard's Zombies mode on launch, but as usual, this is just the beginning. Time will tell whether Call of Duty: Vanguard's Zombies with stack up to Black Ops Cold War's exemplary six-season run. Treyarch, the developers behind the aforementioned game, are taking the lead on Vanguard's Zombies mode, so we have high hopes for the project. Fingers crossed!
