Call of Duty will probably have a crossover with the sci-fi franchise Dune. We are certain of this because the Warzone devs forgot to hide one of the custom Dune backgrounds in the most recent patch.
With the Modern Warfare 3 beta fast approaching, it can be easy to forget that we still have a whole season's worth of content to enjoy in Warzone and MW2. Yep, although it will probably get the least attention, Warzone Season 6 brought with it some cool new additions to the game. And although they haven't officially announced it yet, that includes a collaboration with the legendary Dune franchise.
Dune Themed Background Found In Warzone After Latest Update
Activision's devs forgot to hide a Dune-themed background in the Warzone and MW2 Season 6 update. This custom background will clearly be part of a bundle eventually, but we weren't supposed to see it yet because the bundle isn't on offer. However, because the devs forgot to make it invisible to the player, you can actually find this cosmetic in the menus already:
There will be a collaboration between DUNE and Call of Duty at some point, as a DUNE Loading Screen background has appeared in the Season 06 update. It's currently locked. pic.twitter.com/KYZ2OflFLi

We are therefore convinced that a Dune collab is on the way, if the cosmetics have already been made and added to the game files. It would take something as drastic as the NICKMERCS scandal to put an end to this collab now.
We expect the collab to drop around November 3, before it was delayed due to the ongoing actor's strike.
Call of Duty have been going crazy with collabs this year. Has it been too much for your own taste? Or are you comfortable monetizing the game in this way?
Can Paul Atreides save us from all these cheaters?
