Benioff and Weiss have revealed their new project, which will already debut in 2023: 3 Body Problem. Here's what we know.
I know, I know... we kind of don't like David Benioff and D.B. Weiss anymore, but at the same time... they did Game of Thrones Season 1-7. Yes, I'm one of those people that loved Game of Thrones season 7: The first 4 episodes were incredible, and so was every season - every episode - before that. Are we going to ignore the fact that Benioff and Weiss are really good adapting existing greatness for TV? It's only when they run out of material that they struggle, so it should make you happy to hear that their new series '3 Body Problem' is also adapting a succesful novel.
3 Body Problem: New Series from GoT Showrunners
I hold no hatred for Benioff and Weiss. House of Dragons is doing great, and if it weren't for them, GoT would have never become what it is today. They're all good in my book, so I'm actually excited about 3 Body Problem. But what... is it? It's an award-winning book trilogy - you know the stuff that used to be made into movies, but now people realized TV is better suited for it. More specifically, it is a sci-fi trilogy that revolves around humanity cominc into contact with an alien civilization.
Existential threat as the main plot? Works for me. Always works for me. As does the cast: Sam and Ser Davos from Game of Thrones are teaming up with Benioff and Weiss again, as is Wong from the MCU. Proven actors working with proven showrunners, spear-headed by Academy-Awarded nominated director Derek Tsang. I'm excited for 2023, when The Tree-Body Problem will be released.
