A Cyberpunk “live-action project” has been announced, bringing the world of CD Projekt RED’s game to the screen. Here’s everything we know so far.
Cyberpunk is on a roll right now. After a disastrous launch, the much-anticipated Shooter RPG by CD Projekt RED slowly repaired its reputation. Most recently, the big 2.0 patch and the successful release of the Phantom Liberty add-on brought the game to new heights.
Now, it looks like the IP will be further built upon. After the very popular Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, we are now getting another adaptation of the franchise, but this time it’s live-action.
Cyberpunk Live-Action Project Announced
This was announced via a CD Projekt press release. The “live-action project” will be produced together with Anonymous content, a media company responsible for successful shows and films like True Detective, Mr. Robot and The Revenant. It hasn’t been clearly stated what this project will be. However, the involvement of Garret Kemble, Head of Television at Anonymous Content, suggests that this will be another show, just like Edgerunners. It will be realized “in close collaboration with the Cyberpunk 2077 creative team”. No other details about the project have been definitively revealed so far, whether about the cast, the plot nor a possible release date. The project is currently “at an early development stage” and the creatives are looking for a screenwriter, according to the announcement. That means that we’ll still have to wait a long while before we will get to see this project. As soon as we hear more official information, we will keep you updated on EarlyGame. Let’s hope this new project is just as good as Edgerunners, if not better!
